TThis multimedia system combines entertainment with information and communication. The Audio 20 CD with internet capability, radio, dual tuner and CD player also allows mobile devices to be networked via Bluetooth®.
It also features a high-resolution TFT display. While stationary you can browse the internet and while on the move use the Mercedes-Benz apps "Mercedes-Benz Radio" and "Service Mercedes-Benz" (only for Germany).
The Bluetooth® interface features a hands-free function and audio streaming for playing music files. Contacts can be transferred from mobile phone to head unit, provided this function supports PBAP (Phonebook Access Profile). The CD player can also be used to play MP3, WMA, WAV and AAC files. A Cover Art function shows album covers in the audio menu.

Bang & Olufsen BeoSound AMG sound system (optional) Whether true-to-nature sound reproduction or voluminous surround sound: With this system you are the one who chooses the sound in your car. No matter what you decide, it will be top class because all the components are precisely tailored to the acoustic characteristics of the vehicle.
The high-end surround sound system developed jointly with Bang & Olufsen features Frontbass technology and a total of 14 high-performance speakers, turning the vehicle interior into a concert hall with breath-taking acoustics. It is the perfect complement to the optional COMAND Online multimedia system .
The fully-integrated DSP sound processor generates different sound settings in interaction with the BeoCore amplifier and most advanced ICEpower technology, with up to 1400 Watts and impressive 5.1 surround sound. With the "Acoustic Lens Technology" of the tweeters, passengers can experience a virtual sound stage.
On long journeys, too, they can treat themselves to an exceptional sound experience, because driving noises are neutralised. To this end the sound volume is increased depending on the vehicle speed – not across the board, but individually for every single speaker and individually for the different frequencies.
The high design standards from Bang & Olufsen can be seen in details such as the tweeters illuminated with white LEDs and the high-quality aluminium speaker grilles.

The control centre that meets the most demanding of requirements. You won't miss a thing because this system provides everything you will need when on the road – for relaxation, information and communication.
Navigation, telephone, audio, video, internet – with the COMAND Online control and display system the driver keeps these and many other functions in sight and under control. Information is shown on a 20.3 centimetre high-resolution colour display. Operation is easy and intuitive.
High-speed hard-drive navigation with realistic topographic map display guides you to your destination safely and smoothly. In combination with a suitable mobile phone it is possible to browse the internet when the vehicle is stationary, and to use Mercedes-Benz apps such as POI search, weather or internet radio while driving.
The Live Traffic Information service (free of charge for three years, available in twelve countries) allows the reception of updated, accurate traffic information in real time for optimised dynamic route guidance and precisely calculated arrival times. Data transfer is with a communication module via a fast mobile internet connection.
A DVD player, radio, 10 GB memory for audio and video files and ports for connecting external devices provide entertainment made to measure.

Digital Owner's Manual (optional) The existing vehicle and multimedia supplementary instructions were completely digitalised. The user can call up all this information directly on the display in the vehicle using the central control element. Using this function is free of charge and no internet connection is required.
Searching for specific information is fast and convenient. It is tailored to each specific vehicle and also takes into account individually chosen optional equipment and appointments. All information is available directly from the display in the vehicle in various languages.
There are three ways to search – via keyword input, using the table of contents of with a revolving vehicle model (the so-called visual search).
Short, concise text in an easy-to-read font size and high-quality animation with audio information illustrate precise, complex vehicle functions and complex interrelationships.
Warning and safety information on the displayed topic can be easily seen and accessed via the right control panel. In addition references to related topics are integrated in the quick access bar underneath the running text in order to ease and make pleasant reading the text contents.

Digital radio (DAB) for DAB, DMB and DAB+ standards (optional))
Because there is no blanket coverage of digital broadcasts yet, the digital DAB radio switches automatically from digital to analogue reception and vice-versa depending on signal strength. It is also possible to switch between digital and analogue mode manually.

Rear seat entertainment, incl. two displays in the front seat head restraints and DVD player, headphones and remote control (optional) First-class entertainment in the second row: The rear entertainment system offers rear seat passengers their own personal entertainment program – from films to DVD and from music to television.
Two large displays on the front seat backrests deliver a superb image and sound quality in conjunction with high-quality wireless headphones. The system is controlled conveniently via an infra-red remote control.

Garmin® MAP PILOT (optional) User-friendly navigation, accurate map data and excellent route guidance – the Garmin® MAP PILOT system transfers all the benefits of a Garmin® navigation system to the Audio 20 CD. It is activated by simply inserting an SD card containing the navigation software and map data.

Harman Kardon® Logic 7® surround sound system (optional) Experience an unmistakeably authentic surround sound: Carefully harmonised technical components and Logic 7® technology ensure that passengers in all seats enjoy a thrilling 360-degree sound experience both with stereo and with 5.1 multi-channel recordings.
The sound system with its 14 high-performance and an output of up to 830 watts is adapted to the specific acoustic conditions of the vehicle. The powerful, high-performance DSP amplifier is fitted with a digital signal processor which provides a harmonic overall sound.
In addition, the speed-dependent volume control feature provides a uniform sound impression by continuously adjusting the volume to the speed of the vehicle.

Convenience Telephony in the armrest with universal interface for various mobile phone cradles, expanded telephone functions and charging function (optional) If you need to make a lot of phone calls while on the road, you'll quickly come to appreciate this feature. Now your mobile telephone not only has a safe, inconspicuous place. It also has a first-class connection.
A universal interface in the armrest enables you to connect mobile phones conveniently to the vehicle's speaker phone. To do so, just insert the mobile phone into the a phone cradle (accessory) matching the device.
The mobile phone is operated conveniently via the controller in the centre console, the multifunction steering wheel or the LINGUATRONIC voice control system. This makes it possible to both write and send SMS text messages. You can also have received communications read out aloud.

Live Traffic Information (optional) This service allows the reception of up-to-date and precise traffic information for optimised dynamic route guidance and a more accurate estimated time of arrival. Data transfer is with a communication module via a fast mobile internet connection.
Live Traffic Information is part of the COMAND Online multimedia system upon the first registration of the vehicle. The service is activated for three years and can be extended for a fee afterwards.

These services, which are part of the range of services offered by Mercedes me connect, significantly boost safety and comfort and help to save time. Their use is possible following the customer's acceptance of the terms and condition of usage and his/her registration on the "Mercedes me" Mercedes me connect customer portal.
The customer portal is also a hub for the management and configuration of Remote Online and tracking services. You can call up services at any time, even when mobile, via smartphone or tablet, at www.connect.mercedes.me.
An integrated communication module with its own SIM card is the technical requirement for the use of the remote and tracking services, as well as other services from Mercedes me connect. This ensures a data connection independently of the customer's mobile phone.

Smartphone Integration package (optional) This package allows compatible smartphones running iOS or Android operating systems to be integrated into the vehicle via Apple CarPlay™ and MirrorLink™ and to be controlled by voice commands, for example. The system supports the major applications and selected apps including navigation.
Apple CarPlay™, for example, supports telephony, navigation, audio, receiving and sending text messages and e-mails, as well as Siri voice control. The selected third-party apps likewise supported include Stitcher Radio and Spotify (the right to make changes to the integrated mercedes-Benz apps is reserved).
To prevent driver distraction while on the move, there is no complete duplication of smartphone content.
A data connection via the mobile phone is necessary for certain functions. Charges may be incurred, depending on the mobile phone contract. The supported functions also depend on the smartphone and market. The information provided by the smartphone manufacturer will also indicate the compatible devices and functions.

Telephone module with Bluetooth® (SAP profile) (optional) This feature allows the connection of a mobile phone using the Bluetooth® SAP (SIM Access Profile) protocol or direct operation by inserting a SIM card into the integral SIM card reader. Use of the vehicle's external aerial ensures better reception.
Available only in conjunction with Convenience Telephony.

TV receiver for digital TV reception, supported by functions including multi-channel sound, EPG (Electronic Programme Guide) and teletext (optional) Watching TV in excellent picture quality and with a large channel selection – the TV receiver makes this also possible in the vehicle. It receives digital stations broadcasting in DVB-T standard and allows access to additional information, such as e.g. electronic TV magazines or video text.
For safety reasons, the TV picture in the front switches off automatically when the vehicle speed exceeds approx. 6 km/h. In conjunction with the Rear Seat Entertainment System, passengers in the rear can watch television during the journey.
